Yesterday I completed my conversion to the Piper PA28. - To fly a different type of aircraft you have to complete a few flights with an instructor who will guide you through the differences. You are required to read through the Pilot's Operating Handbook to get familiar with the new operating speeds etc. During the conversion the instructor will test you knowledge of the aircraft and will need to see your pre flight brief (including mass/balance and performance calculations). You will also be required to demonstrate that you can safely conduct a flight, including demonstrating that you can recover from different types of stalls, show you know what to do in case of an in flight emergency and conduct different types of approaches. I enjoyed my conversion over to the PA28, it is a much more stable aircraft compared to the Cessna 152 and it is nice to have a bit more room inside.
